Please use this Category for ANY fics where Princess Zelda is an active character. This applies to ANY in-game incarnation of Zelda, including Zelda-as-Sheik and Tetra. Please DO NOT make a character page for ANY of the in-game Zeldas. You can easily inform your readers of which Zelda your story revolves around with a simple Author's Note commentary at the beginning of your story, or by linking the story to a specific Timeline category.

• For stories where Zelda will be predominantly appearing under the guise of Sheik, please use THAT character category, as well, which is accessible here, under Alternate Forms, AND in the Game Character Category, under OoT Characters. If Sheik is a separate entity from Zelda (AU timeline), you DO NOT have to include this category (unless, of course, a Princess Zelda actually DOES appear in the fic, as well).

• Because the in-game description of events leading to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link varies drastically from the events laid out in the manual, it IS possible to assume that there are TWO Princess Zeldas existing at the time of TLoZ and ZII:tAoL, one being the Princess that Link saves at the end of TLoZ, who is still around, but NOT as an active character, at the time of ZII:tAoL, as well as a SECOND Zelda, who has been asleep for millenia. Because of this, we've made a sub-category for this sleeping Princess, which is listed below.

• Even though Tetra IS a Princess Zelda, her drastically different lifestyle, and the fact that she never officially assumes the throne, makes her unique enough to be listed below, as an alternate form of Zelda.

• If you are working with a truly AU version of Zelda, such as a modern-day Zelda, Zelda's ghost, a Zelda who is NOT a Princess or Queen of Hyrule, or some other incarnation of Zelda that ISN'T based on a specific game, please list these under the sub-category Alternate Universe Zeldas, and follow the directions of the top of the category page. For AU versions of Zelda, you CAN make a Character Page, following the guidelines set forth in the Original Characters category page.
